Recipient of the Lauren Bennett Finalist Award

Bronwyn White, soprano, spent last year performing with Fort Worth Opera as a Hattie Mae Lesley Apprentice Artist, where she appeared as The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors this past December, and covered Norina (Don Pasquale) this past spring. On the outreach tours, Bronwyn was seen as Pig/Teen Duck in Ugly Duckling, and Cat in The Musicians of Bremen. She was also featured in Fort Worth Opera Frontiers, performing excerpts as Eleanor Ford in Fordlandia and Chrissy in Domestic. Bronwyn was recently engaged as a Festival Artist at Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre, where she appeared as the Cousin (Madama Butterfly) and covered Esmeralda (Hunchback of Notre Dame) and covered Anne Boleyn and Elizabeth in Rex. Bronwyn’s recent credits include Magnolia Hawks (Show Boat) with the Natchez Opera Festival, Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) and Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) with Texas Christian University Opera, Océanide (Prométhée Enchaîné) with the Atlantic Music Festival, Alberto Gonzales (The Alberto Gonzales Cantata) at the National Opera Association Convention, and Frasquita (Carmen) with New Jersey Verismo Opera.  Bronwyn has won Second Place at the Young Texas Artists Music Competition, the Distinction Award at the Metropolitan International Music Festival Competition, First Place at the Friday-Woodmere Music Club Competition, was named a Finalist in the New Jersey State Opera Competition and Michael Ballam’s Concorso Lirico International Competition, and won the TCU Concerto Competition. She has been featured as a soloist with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, the Atlantic Music Festival Orchestra, the New York Opera Exchange and Orchestra, the Texas Christian University Wind Symphony, the Texas Christian University Symphony Orchestra, Texas Christian University Collegium Musicum, the Purchase Symphony Orchestra, and the Anchorage Concert Chorus and Orchestra. As a recitalist, she has performed at the San Antonio Festival of French Culture and the TCU Festival of American Song.  Bronwyn holds an Artist Diploma from Texas Christian University, a Master of Music from the State University of New York – Purchase, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
