Recipient of the Marie Milner Award

Australian-American soprano, Robyn Marie Lamp is quickly gaining recognition for her beautiful robust voice and captivating stage presence. In a recent concert, Robyn was described as “displaying a wonderful covered sound that blossomed richly as the music ascended.” (Considine, The Boston Musical Intelligencer)
Most recently Robyn was awarded First Place in the prestigious Lois Alba Aria Competition which took place in Houston, Texas. This year also saw her competing as a finalist in the Southeast Region of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Robyn is currently working on the world premiere of the role of Romaine Patterson in Michael Ross’ new musical drama “Not In My Town,” scheduled to premiere in September of 2016 with Opera Fusion.
In June of 2014, Robyn headed to New York City as a Bel Canto Young Artist with Caramoor Opera, where she covered Angela Meade in the title role of Lucrezia Borgia. Robyn has been seen on stage at Sarasota Opera as an Apprentice Artist in the 2014 season. She returned to Sarasota in the fall of 2014 to cover the role of Nedda in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci.
Robyn has been seen on the stage singing Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Donna Elvira from Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Susanna from Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Mimì from Puccini’s La bohéme, the dragonfly from Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortileges, and many others.
On the concert stage, Robyn was most recently seen performing Vaughn-Williams’ Dona nobis pacem with Newburyport Choral Society. She has also performed Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore, Fauré’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and Seely’s Brave Souls & Dreamers.
In January of 2012 Robyn placed third in the Gulf Coast Region of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She was also a winner of the Louisiana District that same year. Competitions in which Robyn has placed include the Lois Alba Aria Competition, Florida Suncoast Opera Guild, Just Love to Sing!, and the Artist Series of Sarasota.
Ms. Lamp holds a Master of Music degree from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Music from Florida Atlantic University. Ms. Lamp is currently in the voice studio of Birgit Djupedal-Fioravante.
