SADLY, DUE TO THE UNPREDICTABILITY OF THE COVID 19 VIRUS AND ALL PROCESSES  IN PLACE TO DIMINISH THE SPREAD, WE ARE FORCED TO CANCEL THE 15TH LOIS ALBA ARIA COMPETITION AT THIS TIME UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  MAY YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES STAY SAFE.

Soma International Foundation, Inc., is a non-profit organization founded in 1978 by Lois Alba and Arthur Wachter for the purpose of helping aspiring opera singers secure more opportunities, exposure, training and guidance in the exciting and highly competitive art world of opera.

Ms. Alba spends much of her time in the company of singers, helping them hone in and develop their natural talents. As a former opera singer and performer herself, she is well aware of the many challenges singers face and is very resourceful at planning venues where they can get the exposure and feedback necessary from exemplary music professions in the field.  

Arthur Wachter is also a great admirer and supporter of opera singers and dedicates much of his time to the behind-the-scenes work of all our projects and endeavors.
