Third Place : Marie Elise Thomas

Soprano

Recipient of the 2006 Third Place Award

 

Maria Elise Thomas is a 23 year old native of New Orleans, Louisiana.  She is currently completing her Vocal Performance degree at Baylor University under the teaching of Dr. John Van Cura.

She has performed many roles there including Erste Dame in DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, and the lead role in SUOR ANGELICA. Maria Elise won 2nd Place at the Regional MET Council Auditions in San Antonio, February 2006. In November of 2006 she performed the title role in Carlisle Floyd’s SUSANNAH at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
