According to the national Colombian television program Vivamos la Opera, Canedo is considered \u201cone of the promising young talents of his generation. \u201dCanedo has performed over twenty five roles across the United States, South America, and Europe, including the title roles of Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Don Giovanni, and Signor Deluso; Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Papageno in Die Zauberfl\u00f6te, Gugliemo in Cosi fan tutte, Marcello in La Boheme, Germont in La Traviata, Belcore in L\u2019Elisir d\u2019Amore, Escamillo in Carmen, Albert in Werther, Beaupertui in Il Cappello di Paglia di Fiorenze, Dr. Miracle in Les Contes d\u2019Hoffmann, and Dr. Rappaccini in La Hija de Rappaccini. His professional appearances as a soloist include Opera de Colombia, Prol\u00edrica de Antioquia, TCU-Fort Worth Opera Inst., Dallas Metroplex Opera, Banco de la Rep\u00fablica, Universidad Eafit, Universidad de Caldas, City of Manizalez, and the IDCT of the City of Bogota DC. Dr. Canedo has been invited a as soloist in summer programs such as the Crescendo Institute in Hungary, Le Chiavi di Bel Canto in Houston, the Opera Singers Initiative in NYC, and Opera in the Ozarks in Arkansas.\u00a0 Dr. Canedo was finalist in the 2015 Lois Alba Competition earned the Pavel Lisitsian Memorial Award. He also won the Colombian Banco de la Rep\u00fablica Young Talents competition twice, resulting in a nationwide performance tour.\u00a0 As a recitalist, he represented Colombia in El Encuentro Internacional de M\u00fasica de Medell\u00edn. Dr. Canedo was invited by the Fine Arts Chamber Players of Dallas to perform in their \u201cRising Star\u201d program at the annual Basically Beethoven Festival. As a concert soloist, Dr. Canedo performed Orff\u2019s Carmina Burana with Victoria Symphony, Texas, and the Sinf\u00f3nica Nacional de Colombia, celebrating the 100 anniversary of the Conservatory of Tolima; Dvorak\u2019s Te Deum with the Caldas Symphony of Manizales, Colombia, commemorating the city\u2019s 150th anniversary; Faure\u2019s Requiem with the Corpas Symphony of Bogot\u00e1, Colombia; Schubert\u2019s G Major Mass with Red de Orquestas de Medellin; Bach\u2019s Cantata BWV 140 with Orchestra Batuta de Manizalez; Dobois\u2019s Seven Last Words of Christ with First Presbyterian Church, Wichita Falls; Durufle\u2019s Requiem with Saint John\u2019s Episcopal Church; and Bacalov\u2019s Misa in Tango with the orchestras of the First United Methodist Church in Plano and Coppell, Texas.\u00a0 Dr. Canedo earned a Bachelor of Law, LL. B. (equivalent to the Juris Doctor) from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
