Korean-Chinese Soprano, Yulan Piao, most recently made an engagement as the role of Juliette in Rom\u00e9o et Juliette with Knoxville Opera.\u00a0 In competitions she has earned many accolades. In the 2018, She received 1st prize in the both Verismo Opera Competition and Vienna Summer Music Festival Competition. In the 2017, she has been placed 3rd prize in the Gerda Lissner International Vocal Competition, The Winner from the Career Bridges Grant Awards, Encouragement grant from Giulio Gari foundation, 3rd Prize from the Connecticut Opera Idol Competition, and 1st prize in the Five Towns music and Art Foundation(2016).\u00a0 She recently performed as Liu in Turandot with the New Jersey Association of\u00a0 Verismo Opera, Musetta in La Boh\u00e8me with New Rochelle Opera.\u00a0 Other past engagements have included as Lauretta with ICAV program in Montreal, as Lauretta with Martina Arroyo Foundation in the summer of 2017, as Mim\u00ec in Puccini’s La boh\u00e8me with IVAI program in New York City in 2016 summer. More previously her credits include La boh\u00e8me (Mim\u00ec), Die Zauberfl\u00f6te (Pamina),Luisa Miller (Luisa), Cos\u00ec fan tutte (Fiordiligi).\u00a0 Opera Scene works include La Rondine (Magda), Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor (Frau Fluth), Manon (Manon), Carmen (Micaela) and Lucia di Lammermoor (Lucia), La Traviata (Violetta).\u00a0 She completed her Master\u2019s degree at the Manhattan school of Music under the tutelage of Mignon Dunn.<\/span><\/p>\n
