She has performed as a young artist with Chicago Opera Theater, given concerts in Chicago\u2019s famed Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park, performed in the Teatro Piccinni in Bari, Italy, was the touring soprano for Houston Grand Opera\u2019s Opera to Go!, and has given recitals in the capital city of La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. In 2014 she was awarded first place in the annual Lois Alba Aria Competition. Most recently she has performed with the Puccini Society of Dallas. As a former teaching artist for Houston Grand Opera, Young Audiences of Houston, and Minnesota, Magall\u00f3n\u2019s career has focused primarily toward performing for students and members of her local community. Most recently she performed the title role in Manon Lescaut for the Soma International Foundation, Inc.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/soma-info.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/1542088679465_Magallo\u0301n_Headshot.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-6235\" title=\"Alejandro Magallo\u0301n\" src=\"https:\/\/soma-info.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/1542088679465_Magallo\u0301n_Headshot.jpg\" alt=\"Alejandro Magallo\u0301n\" width=\"281\" height=\"423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/soma-info.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/1542088679465_Magallo\u0301n_Headshot.jpg 402w, https:\/\/soma-info.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/1542088679465_Magallo\u0301n_Headshot-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 281px) 100vw, 281px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Alejandro Magall\u00f3n<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Mexican tenor, Alejandro Magall\u00f3n studied at the School of Sacred Music in the city of Guadalajara where he joined \u00d3pera Guadalajara. He then moved to Houston joining the Houston Grand Opera chorus appearing in more than 50 different productions.\u00a0In 2013 he was awarded Third Place in\u00a0Lois Alba Aria Competition.\u00a0While at HGO, Magall\u00f3n sang in over 800 performances for its touring ensemble, &#8220;Opera\u00a0to Go!&#8221; Performing Tamino, in\u00a0The Magic Flute; Romeo, in\u00a0Romeo &amp; Juliet; Don Jos\u00e9, in\u00a0Carmen; the Prince, in\u00a0Rusalka; Big Anthony, in\u00a0Strega Nona; the step-sister Margarita, in\u00a0Cinderella in Spain; Buffo, in\u00a0The Princess and the pea; The Rabbit, in\u00a0The Velveteen Rabbit. He originated the roles of Wu in\u00a0The Clever Wife\u00a0by Mary Carol Warwick and the role of Ricardo in the world premiere of\u00a0A Way Home, by Ethan Greene. Upon moving to Minneapolis, Alejandro appeared with Minnesota Opera in the role of an Officer in\u00a0Ariadne auf Naxos\u00a0and the world premiere of\u00a0The Shining\u00a0as The Crooner in addition to being an active teaching artist with both MNOP and Mill City Opera.
