Rebecca Heath<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Rebecca Heath, Australian-American soprano began her singing career almost exclusively as a duettist with her mezzo-soprano sister, Meaghan Heath, performing mostly Australian folk music and American popular and Broadway tunes. Together they have had varied experience, such as singing on Australian National television for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, opening the Australian Consulate at the Baker Institute, performing at the three-day\u00a0annual Embassy Flower Mart event at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C., and were the opening act for the famous Australian act, Pot Pourri, as well as the Asian Society Gala at the Ritz Carlton. Most recently, the Heath Sisters performed a Duet Benefit Concert, \u201cMoments of Beauty,\u201d on May 8th, 2010, for the Lady of Walsingham Institutes of Catholic Culture Studies in Houston.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A native Houstonian, Rebecca received a Voice Performance Diploma at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 2004 which ignited her passion for a career in opera. She has performed the roles of Suor Angelica in SUOR ANGELICA, Susan B. Anthony in THE MOTHER OF US ALL, Diana in ORPHEUS IN THE UNDERWORLD, Cherubino in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, and Geraldine in A HAND OF BRIDGE at the University of Texas where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance. She is currently pursuing a Masters degree at the Moores School of Music. Rebecca recently made her debut at the Moores Opera Center as Donna Elvira in DON GIOVANNI and starred at the intensive training program and opera festival Opera in the Ozarks as Nedda in PAGLIACCI and Yum-Yum in THE MIKADO.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2009 she was the soloist for Howard Goodall\u2019s Eternal Light: A Requiem performed at the Moores Opera House in Houston. Rebecca appeared as a guest artist at the 2009 Lois Alba Aria Competition singing \u201cSon pochi fiori\u201d and \u201cThe Cherry Duet\u201d from L\u2019AMICO FRITZ. She enjoyed the honor of accepting this Audience Favorite Award among the finalists at the 2010 Lois Alba Aria Competition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
