Amanda Grooms<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Soprano Amanda Grooms recently attained her Master\u2019s Degree from Rice University where she sang the roles of Donna Elvira in DON GIOVANNI, Adina in L\u2019ELISIR D\u2019AMORE and Armida in Handel\u2019s RINALDO.\u00a0 Ms. Grooms performed the roles of Mica\u00ebla in CARMEN and Violetta in LA TRAVIATA with the Aspen Music Festival under the baton of Julius Rudel and was a winner of the 2006 Vocal Concerto Competition and performed in concert under the baton of George Manahan and the Sinfonia Orchestra.\u00a0 Operatic\u00a0 roles\u00a0 include\u00a0 Fiordiligi\u00a0\u00a0 in\u00a0\u00a0 COS\u00cc\u00a0FAN TUTTE with Opera Vivente, Giannetta in L\u2019ELISIR D\u2019AMORE with Opera Birmingham, the title role in Mozart\u2019s ZA\u00cfDE in the Midwest premier of his unfinished opera with the Milwaukee Opera Theater.\u00a0 In 2005, Ms. Grooms was a studio artist with Sarasota Opera where she sang Ellen in Delibes\u2019 LAKM\u00c9 and covered Donna Anna in DON GIOVANNI and she was an apprentice artist the previous season where she covered the role of K\u00f6nigen der Nacht in DIE ZAUBERFL\u00d6TE.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amanda has been a winner of he Saint Louis District Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions on three different occasions, taking 2nd place at the Regional Finals in 2003 and 2006.<\/span><\/p>\n

Equally at home on the recital and concert stage, Ms. Grooms has made concert appearances in Salzburg, Vienna, Milan, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Washington D.C., Milwaukee and St. Louis.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ms. Grooms has performed numerous works by new composers, including two world premieres and most recently the American Premiere of celebrated Italian composer Matteo D\u2019Amico\u2019s STABAT MATER hosted by Rice University and the Italian Consulate of Houston.<\/span><\/p>\n
