Turner"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/soma-info.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/2012-Leon-P-Turner1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-2175\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/soma-info.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/2012-Leon-P-Turner1.png\" alt=\"2012 Leon P Turner\" width=\"240\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a>Leon Turner, a native of Monroe, Louisiana, and bass-baritone, holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Northeast Louisiana University and a Master of Music Degree from Southern Methodist University.\u00a0 He has performed in master classes conducted by noted singers such as Leontyne Price and Blanche Thebom.\u00a0 Mr. Turner\u2019s operatic and oratorio experiences include such roles as, Bonze, in Puccini\u2019s Madam Butterfly, Sarastro in Mozart\u2019s The Magic Flute and bass soloist in Handel\u2019s Messiah\u00a0 as well as Paul McCartney\u2019s Liverpool Oratorio.\u00a0 He also appeared as 2nd Philistine in Saint-Saens\u2019 Samson et Dalilah, Sergeant in Puccini\u2019s La Boheme, Figaro in Mozart\u2019s Le nozze di Figaro, Leporello in Don Giovanni,\u00a0 and Alfonso in Cosi fan tutte, the title role in Mussorgsky\u2019s Boris Godunov, and King Philip in Verdi\u2019s Don Carlo.\u00a0 His appearances also include leading roles with Fort Worth Opera, Portland Opera Theatre, and N.L.U.
