Romanian pianist Andreea Muţ attended the Gheorghe Dima Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, before completing her Master of Music degree at Sam Houston State University, and her Doctorate in Collaborative Arts at University of Houston. Ms. Muţ performed solo and chamber music recitals throughout Romania, France, Colombia, Mexico and the United States. She won numerous prizes in national and international competitions, including 2nd prize at Pro Piano International Competition Bucharest, Romania (2004), and 3rd prize at “Carl Filtsch” International Competiton, Sibiu, Romania (2001). Between 2012 and 2014, she held the position of Head Repetiteur and Assistant Conductor at Opera in the Heights Houston. Recent engagements include performances with AURA – The Moores School of Music Contemporary Ensemble, as well as the Texas Two Year College All State Choir (San Antonio, 2015). Andreea Muţ is currently teaching at Virtuoso Music Academy Houston, as well as playing for the Houston Chamber Choir.
